Tom Hucker trained at Boston University (Program in Artisanry)where he met his mentor Jere Osgood from this Scandinavian influence and Thomas's interest in the Japanese tea ceremony led to a unique fusion and interpretation of aesthetics. Following on from his training he attended the Domus Academy in Milan, this era of study focused on concepts as a means of generating design.
